Taulantia Kingdom

   

Founder of the Kingdom of Taulantia was Glaukia was very ambitious and worked on expanding its territories with Macedonian neighbors had good relations.After the death of Alexander the Great in 323 B.C

Taulantia managed to retrieve all the lands Macedonians had previously occupied by enchleas.Between Taulantia and the State of Macedonia also had conflicts for the city of Dyrrachion

and Apolonoia.These two cities had strategic importance.After uprising anti-Macedonian in 312 B.C

These two cities were taken again from Taulantia Glaukia his army also intervened in Epirus

309 B.C in putting the throne King Pyrrhus.

His goal was thus to weaken the Macedonian supporters who were there.Glaukise successor , the new Bar-dhyl had good relations with the mainland.However , these relations do not extend to close more after which King Pyrrhus of Epirus ,State claimed that its territory to extend to the river shkumbin.

Taulantia Kingdom witnessed economic development social and cultural.During which time they also had their silver coins and a trade developed .In these circumstances arose many new cities.The most prominent were :Damastioni , Byllis , Albanopolis , Rizoni , Ulcini , Skodra etc. .
