Illyrians

Among the old peoples of the Balkan peninsula , as Pelasgians were descendants of the Illyrians.

They lie mainly in the western Balkans.Natural boundaries of their holdings went up north Panonija
the rivers Sava and Danube,reaching south to the Bay of Amvrakikos,east boundaries were rivers Morava and Vardar then Adriatic Sea in the west and the Ionian Sea.Illyrians lived in tribes had over
70 Illyrian tribes.But only some of them as the major tribes or as tribal groups were recognized and established their kingdoms.Illyrians main countries were: 

State of Enkelas      (V century)
Molossoi State    (V century)

Dardann State      (IV century)
Taulantia State     (IV century)

and  State of Ardiana (III century).

 

Origin of the Illyrians

  

For the origin of the Illyrians exist different opinions but they are mainly summarized in the two theories.By one were to come to the Balkans.By second theory they think that Illyrians are local-indigenous peoples.The first theory is supported by a group of Scientists,
concludes that the Illyrians were coming from Central Europe to the Balkans.This area of support have multiple source materials that are discovered in different localities archaeological,
across the territories where they lived.According to these sources deemed beginnings that the Illyrian ethnos in II Millennium B.C.Which coincides with the time of the bronze medium Illyrian ethnos was formed and fully the first Millennium B.C.Respectively at the time of iron.
